Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center Honored by Worcester Business Journal with 2008 Green Award

The Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center at Milford Regional Medical Center was recently honored by the Worcester Business Journal with a Green Design Award. The Cancer Center was planned, designed, and constructed under the Green Guide for Health Care, a program that is projected to be formally recognized by the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) council in 2008. These guidelines modify the general LEED requirements to more accurately reflect what is achievable for sustainable design in a healthcare setting.

The project was developed to serve a partnership between Milford Regional and the Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center. It accommodates 54,000 square feet of radiation and medical oncology services, research, and diagnostic services for these three prestigious healthcare providers.

As the project's development manager, Murphy McManus managed the project on behalf of its client, Milford Regional Medical Center. Murphy McManus steered the project through planning, permitting, leasing, design, and construction. The Cancer Center was designed by Steffian Bradley Architects; the engineer was RW Sullivan, and Consigli Construction Co., Inc. served as the construction management for the project.

Murphy McManus provides comprehensive real estate services to healthcare, life science, and institutional/academic clients - from strategic planning and financial analysis to development management and project control to joint venture ownership and off balance sheet financing.
